"Happy Birthday Charlie, honored to be able to contribute to building a new church."
"Welcome to the Octogenarian world Charlie!"
"Bless you all for the wonderful work you do. Wish I could contribute more!"
WE HAVE REACHED $72,000 THANKS TO THE GENEROUS GIFTS OF OUR SUPPORTERS AND THE CHURCH IS WELL ON ITS WAY TO COMPLETION!!
In 1982 Pastor Tito Canéus and Charlie Scott formed a partnership to build a school on the campus of The Good Shepherd Church. For 35 years we have worked together with the Haitian staff to support the education of thousands of students!
In January 2010, the earthquake in Haiti destroyed the school. Today, thanks to your many gifts, the school is mostly rebuilt. But there is one building in the compound that has not been rebuilt -- the CHURCH. The former church, which held up to 2000 people also served as the auditorium for assemblies, graduations and special events for the children. During the earthquake, the second story walls collapsed and the roof fell to the ground.
For the past seven years, the church services have been held in a makeshift building (tarps with a tin roof) on the school grounds. My birthday wish is for the church to be rebuilt in 2017!! We already have a contractor, design, and $100,000 project cost.
We welcome one-time gifts, pledges, matching gifts, stock gifts, etc. No amount is too small or large!
